Why Lowchen?

After spending 25 years breeding belgian shepards - tervueren and malionois - I´ve broadened my interest for dogs and payed attention to a completely new breed.
I came in contact with lowchen as long as 20 years ago (?). Ever since I´ve recommended the breed to friends looking for "a small dog", all the time knowing that I should get a löwchen on my own one day.

After a whole lot of searching and waiting I got the chance to buy a delicious bitch - Cossu´s Kelly Monaco, from Norway.

The thing about Lowchen is that it´s very hard to stop at one - When you´ve got one, you want one more...
The wait for the next Lowchen bitch was long, but finally Kelly´s half-sister Cossu´s Maggie Grace was crossing my threshold - together with my third löwchen, the male Wanted The Commander. He "just happened" to come along when I went to Norway to pick up Grace...

It´s very exciting to explore a new breed, so different from what I experienced for so many years before. Lowchen are fantastic dogs to live with. I am very impressed by how clubs and breeders work together for the breed. And I am so greatful for all the help I´v got as a newbie.

Thanx, Jari and Dennis! Your help and support means the world to me!

After my first litters my little pack has grown to - at this moment - four lions in our home. An additional couple lives with friends/coowners. It is the breeding that fascinates me more than selling a lot of puppies and it suits me perfectly that löwchen gets few puppies (compared with belgian sheperdhs) so I do not have to find so many new homes. Even if it is a bit egoistic not letting everybody share the joy living with löwchens in their homes...

There is no psychiatrist in the world like a puppy licking your face.  /Ben Williams
